How to disable internet access? Granted, I do realize that I will need time and firmware accfs, but otherwise what I would like to turn off, for the time being, is any access to the box excepting from boxes in the So no ssh, ftp, etc. I am poking my way though the manual, and the FAQs, but if someone has a quick pointer to the how-to on this sort of thing, it would save me quite a bit of time.

I personally decline all the "free" Routers offered by my ISP. I chose to purchase my own Router after researching many many inteenet prior to purchase.

I would be willing to bet that anything you have been able to buy, home oriented anyway, particularly if it is older, has been hacked at one time or another. RAID have never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups on a different system preferably placed at another siteyou will eventually lose data! All data storage consists of both the primary storage and the backups.

Windows comes with a built-in firewall tool. Using it, you can quickly cut off the internet permission for any program installed on your computer. This will stop that particular application from connecting to its servers, uploading any data, or loading annoying advertisements. Browse and select the program you want to block from connecting to the internet. Now, select Block the Connection. Here, select all three options- Domain , Private , and Public.
Add a description if required optional —press Finish. The Windows Defender Firewall will now automatically block any internet connection access requests from that particular program.
You can repeat the method for other programs that you want to stop from connecting to the internet. This could help people who want to stop apps with ads, automatic updates, and modifications from connecting to the internet.
